Undermined the Government's demonstration of national need to expand Heathrow airport (expressed in terms of economic and environmental cases) and methodologies by which this need was purportedly demonstrated [see also Publications, reference 13].
Global Commons Institute2008Analysis of grounds for judicial review arising from the Government's refusal to disclose the rationale for the calculation of domestic carbon dioxide emissions reductions figure in the Climate Change Bill.

Critique exposed flaws in NG's representations concerning:
  • energy security and the national interest;
  • its legal duties,
  • demand/supply forecasting and risk, and
  • environmental impact assessments
Full documentation was submitted on behalf of CAPRI for a Public Inquiry, P0624/06/FUL and was used by Richard Buxton Solicitors in R (Ware) v. Neath Port Talbot Council and National Grid [2007] EWHC 913 [see research reference 14]
